Who are the best at what they play? Not favorites, but BEST! And if you dont know enough to make a judgement, pick SOMEONE, even if they do indeed suck.
Guitar- Steve Hackett (solo, Genesis 1971-1977) Drums- Bill Bruford (King Crimson (72-85), solol, Yes (68-72)) Bass- Michael Rutherford (Genesis) Keyboards- Keith Emerson (The Nice (65-69), Emerson Lake and Palmer). Violin- Jean Luc-Ponty (solo)
Feel free to add other instruments...

Jacostillives- you seem to have a great taste in music. Plus, you are the only other Jaco fan besides yours truly that I know. I actually made a post on the Weather Report earlier. I am sure its on the main page of the music forum. You should check it out. Jaco is number 2 on my list. I just like Rutherford's lines better. They are jumpier and more dynamic (but its like comparing Michaelangelo and DaVinci). Its great to have another musically inclined HKer.

That is awesome. I recently purchased an "upgrade" bass and considered the Rick 4003 but ended up getting the Warwick Corvette instead (I just liked its tone better). What do you like to play?

It definitely sounds like you know what you're doing on the bass. ;D. Where do you live. It would be fun to play some time.

Gary Rossington joined Lynyrd Skynyrd when he was 16 too. Pretty crazy! I dont think Allen Collins was much older either.
