Have you ever heard a moment in a song so wonderful and at the same time emotional that it is somewhat like an "Eargasm" ? (Thats not my term, I heard it on progarchives.com) Well that is the most rewarding thing from music in my opinion. Post your favorite epiphanies. 1. Close to the Edge- The build up from the organ solo to the "as I viewed the silence of the valley" passage. 2. The haunting organ interlude in "White Mountain" by Genesis. 3. The same style organ segments in "Fountain of Salmacis." 4. The relaxing, outofthisworld mood of the transition of "Starship Trooper"by Yes. Someone over at www.progarchives.com/forum said that this is caused by key shifts coupled with tempo and volume changes. Makes sense.

So, Dylan, what are you favorites?

Well I also love the Close to the Edge epiphany, and the very end of it as well...let's see what else. There are so many songs out there that give me "eargasms" i can't list a specific favorite, but songs like "The Brazilian," "I Know You're out there Somewhere," and even the "THX Movie sound test" seem to have the epiphany affect on me.

Starship Trooper- wow. That is amazingly calming and eargasmic. 1:50 on track is one of the most beautifully crafted moments in music history- download it (its by Yes) and close your eyes to the sound of Squire's godly bass ascension!

haha that's awesome man. I'm gonna download that when I get the chance, and I'll be listening for 1:50 into the song and hopefully it'll be so eargasmic that my ears bust all over the place...I'm sure they will b/c we seem to like a lot of the same eargasmic things in music.

Yo Kearney, I just listened to "The Lamia" a minute ago, and I seriously had one of the biggest eargasms that I ever experienced while listening to the epiphany of the song, I think u know which part it is..it actually sent chills down my spine and gave me goosebumps..I think that's as eargasmic as it gets! And I wasn't even delta-9ing whatsoever! Such a great song, and brings back good memories of hangin out

NICE! SPeaking of the subject- I was driving home from school Friday listening to Close to the Edge and I remembered that it has been 1 year since I purchased the CD. That and the brisk change of weather made it one of the most emotional listenings ever (even rivaled the time at Little Britan park lol.) I am amazed that after being obsessed with that song for a year it still affects me. BTW- I get to the the Lamia performed live December 10 by the Genesis cover band. I am so excited!
